It's like Two in One!
First part by Kat, Second by Lurelle
Ah procrastinating, what does it mean, you ask? I am not sure because I am too lazy to look up the real definition.
All I know is Lurelle and I are very good at it when it comes to editing the book. We have gotten quite a bit done but for some reason I find myself randomly stressing out about editing. It has come to my attention that every time Lurelle and I do work on etherpad we get off topic like two kids with ADHD. When we do mange to meet up in real life we end up doing things that…let’s just say have nothing to do with Soul Threads at all.
But I reassure you we have gotten a fair amount of work done in the time span that has been given to Lurelle and I. As you know school is starting up soon for us and that will be a big advantage thanks to the smartness of our teachers. It sure has been a long, stressful summer filled with what I want to say work, but working on ST doesn’t feel like work to me, I actually enjoy it. It’s quite ironic that I am procrastinating by editing/writing this wonderful blog post that I wrote at 12 in morning.
Unlike Lurelle’s trip to Las Vegas I did nothing. I usually travel a lot on vacations but this year was a laid back summer filled with trying to contact Lurelle and figuring out things for ST. Well that’s it for my first blog great “talking” with you guys and gals.
Part Two
So, I had oral surgery a couple days ago to remove seven flippin' teeth. Seven!
Long story short, my cheeks have swelled up to three times it's normal size and I have stitches in weird parts of my mouth. It's not a fun way to end my summer.
I'm just hoping the swelling will go down by the time school starts... along with the bruise on my lip that they gave me and a cut on my eyebrow that's my own fault.
So anyway I'm sleeping most of the day and moaning loudly enough for my brother to come into my room and change my ice packs. And eating a freaking ton of rainbow sherbet.
Luckily enough, however, I have my friends to whine to and World of Warcraft to play, so I'm distracted the majority of my time. This morning I woke up in unbelievable pain at around 4:30 AM, and was too scared to wake my own dad up for medication.
So I watched YouTube and moaned.
And then at 6:00 AM I snapped, went downstairs and got some ICE! And then fell asleep for four more hours. And then I took my first shower in three days. So now I'm sitting here, typing with a towel turban on my head and moaning.
You've probably noticed that I'm moaning a lot. I sound like a zombie.
Me: "Nayn, Iweun euiice." (translation: "Dad, I want ice.")
Dad: "You want pliers?"
Me: "Nyooooo!"
Dad: "No, you are NOT going to take your stitches out with pliers!"
Me: "Isau I wahnt uiceee.." ("I said I want ice..")
Dad: "Pudding?"
Me: "Wah? Noh!" ("What? No!")
Dad: "Vicodin!"
Me: "....Okay!"
Drugs, they are magical. So is ice. Mmm.

It's Vegas, Baby
By Lurelle... again.
I've decided to do my second actual blog post, because I haven't been very bloggy.
I came back from my trip to Vegas! HOORAY!
We visited the Hoover Dam, various casino/hotels, sweltering parking lots, and a bunch of ritzy restaraunts that had awesome food that I couldn't eat. You know why? Because I got my braces two days before the trip. But that's planning for ya, right?
I think I fell in love with the guy who played Frankie Valli, his name is Rick Faugno...
Also, the ferry went really slowly. Reeeeeeeaalllyyyy slooooowwwlllllyyy. There was this droning voice that went "..and in 197- noonecares, the Native Americans in the area all mysteriously DISAPPEARED!" and then all the old people went "ooh."
There was also a show on a pirate ship. Things were blowing up. Like, in the middle a huge burst of fire spewed out of a door in the back. Someone caught fire. Everyone applauded.
And of course, we visited Madame Tussauds.

Italian something-or-other.
Not to forget this awesome show I went to called Jersey boys.....

(aka the short one)
Mmm. Aheh, also there's a few of Hoover dam and the ridiculous amount of water that's around there. Do you know how much water there is? Like 500 feet around the dam. That's a lot of water. People drink that water. I wonder, if someone peed in it, how much water it would contaminate. *insert evil face here*
OLD PEOPLE!
And of course, we visited Madame Tussauds.
No, really, that's James Bond. In wax.
James Bond + Terminator makes for one heck of a party.
Lady Gaga was lurking too.
So that about sums up my trip. Plus the attempted-eating-of-food, swimming in a pool that smelled like human urine, listening to people scream at inanimate objects (like slot machines), and wandering around casinos that smelled like sweat, cigarrettes, hookers and desperation!
But really. I had a lot of fun, and I visited two states in one go. (Arizona was an accident. A horrible, horrible accident.)
So that about ends my post. I can't think of a decent ending though. I could rant on how while "end" is a verb it just sounds weird when just plopped by itself without a proper sentenc-

Distractions
By Lurelle
Well. I've been having a nasty case of procrastination. I watched this TV show about the seven sins, and apparently procrastination (aka laziness) is a horrible sin in the bible.
OH WELL!
I've been putting off writing and meetings and important other stuff. I mean, it's summer.. kids should be sleeping 'till noon, eating ice cream and swimming. Right? Right.
Aside from that, I've issued myself a different project. A sort of animation, like an unprofessional "book trailer". It's pretty darn fanciful. I even edited the blood splatters and bone crunching sound effects myself.. just kidding! But I did do blood splatters... like a boss.
In other news, I have read news about a roleplaying convention my favorite site is hosting. I'm excited, but unfortunately in that time period I'll be in Vegas! I wonder if they have free internet in the hotel...
I'll bring my butter sock just in case. And my iPad. Butter socks and iPads. All a girl really needs. Oxygen is for noobs anyway.
So! If you're interested in more of my hideous-and-hardly-humorous updates (and Kat's invisible ones) then follow us on Blogger, Facebook aaaaand we'll even have a Twitter account in the distant, distant future...

It's July!
Almost a month of summer remains until school starts again. Normally this isn't something to be happy about, but goshdarnit, I have no problem with it. Except the homework.
Besides that, we're both willing to accept help from any source we can get it, and there's a number of teachers knocking-down-doors, pushing-pedestrians-aside, rushing to help out! We think. We don't know how teachers work.
But we do know that they have some of the things we don't. Namely, a college education. We haven't gotten there yet, but we're working on it!
..::..
A while back, we visited each other's houses to see what work we could get done. Unfortunately, not much. But we're happy with how it's moving along and that's what counts, right? Maybe.
Seeing as we're just "children" our work ethic is not so strong. I mean, if I got paid handsomely (or not so handsomely) to edit five pages a day, I would do it. No problemo. Nada. Zero. Nothing. But the thing is, this is based off of complete self-motivation and the fact that we're put so many freaking hours in it that it's too late to go back.
Also, musical inspiration is as important as food for us, so thanks to everyone who composes awesome music for us. All you anonymous sillyheads.
So, back to the drudgery- I mean FUN - and we'll see you guys later.

The Ever-Important Beginning
There are limitless books on this world. Some good, some bad, and some that are brilliant enough to catch the attention of the rest of the world. We're not aiming that high.
The original idea for "Soul Threads" came when two friends were bored. These two were no other than myself, Lurelle, and Kit_Kat (also known as Patricia and Katelyn). Now, one of them suggested that they try and make a story for the fun of it and see if people would be interested enough to help them further create the story... in other words, roleplay.
(And people had been interested. 57 in total, though a much smaller number actually participated).
The plot of the story was simple in the beginning. In the busy city of San Francisco there is an academy for .. let's say.. special kids. They're special in the sense that they are linked, through their "souls" with the animal their personalities are most similar to. The kids attend school with their partners and go to class, make friends, and presumably have a normal school year.
Yes, not the most exciting topic, we know. That changed dramatically with the plots and events that eventually unfolded themselves within the story. We had absolutely brilliant people working with us. That unfortunately wasn't enough to save it in the very end.
And after the silence came a remark that we took extremely seriously.
"Why don't you write a book about it?".. or at least something along that line.
It took a few weeks but finally.. Finally .. I began taking the first posts raw, titled a page "Soul Threads Rough Draft 1" and work began.
Enough on that. Here's where you helpful readers come in.
We're young authors. Actually, so young, we haven't graduated college, much less high school yet. It's not normal for people our age to be writing novels (although it's been done). We want to finish, and hopefully publish this book.
Note that the work takes a long time to complete. Patience is required, for both of us and those who are trying to help us.
You can help us by telling us. Saying "Hey, you know, it'd be pretty cool to see something like that in bookstores", or perhaps you're a student or teacher yourself.
That's all we need. We want to know if people want to see what we have to offer the literary world.
And we promise, it'll be fantastic.
